Infinity Ward Exec: Success for Both Call of Duty and Battlefield is "Better for the Industry"
Modern Warfare 3's executive producer has described any Battlefield glass-talk as "cockamamy publisher talk."
Happening the come up, publishers Ea and Activision don't appear to have been getting along awful advisable latterly. During the run equal to the launch of both of their gigantic FPS titles – Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern War 3 respectively – both sides engaged in some degree of Abdominal aortic aneurysm schoolyard name-career. Now that both games have launched, withal, the executive producer seat the last mentioned has successful it clear that this apparent acrimony does not reach into the studios responsible the games.
"A great deal respect for everyone involved happening the DICE side and I think they feel the same way with USA. We're friends with them," said Infinity Ward exec and Modern War 3 producer Mark Rubin to Eurogamer. "IT's non what they portray connected the EA side…honestly, it's the fans you want to listen in to. They'rhenium gamers, they'rhenium going to play both games, both games are great."
Rubin delineated the mud-slinging as "zany publisher public lecture" before elaborating on how he thinks success for one game doesn't necessarily mean loss for other. "When some games bring home the bacon it's better for the manufacture as a whole," he said. "It's not just us – we want the gaming diligence to succeed because the better the gaming industry does the better we all do. We root for everybody."
Information technology's nice to hear expressions of professional honour in a world untidy with loud taunts that speech sound more and much corresponding bad attempts at marketing the more you hear them. As Rubin said, huge success is good for the industry as a whole; being divisive doesn't get us anyplace and despite which you prefer, both Battlefield 3 and Modern War 3 look set to be great games. Doesn't it feel decent to be fastidious?
